Byron Changing For The Better

Byron is the oldest brother of the Watson family. Kenny introduces him as a Juvenile Delinquent. However Byron is a nice brother but plays it off so people can think he is tough.

He is a nice brother because when Kenny said "I hate listening to Joey whining when I take all that junk off her at school" (page51). That's when Byron finally gave up and was tired of listening to him whine so he said" well listen here I'm going to help you out"(page51). I feel that Byron can be mean, but there are lots of times when his nice side shows. For example like when he threw a Swedish cookie at a bird but when he hit it, he hit it right in the chest and killed it, but after he knew for sure it was dead he started to cry (page83). He told Kenny to go away so he wouldn't see him cry but when Kenny got back there in the place the bird had died there was a tiny grave with two pop sickles sticks that were crossed together to look like a cross that's when Kenny made the statement "leave it to daddy smooth to kill a bird then give a funeral"(page85).

Some ways that Byron plays it off is when he thought that they were on welfare he made Kenny go and sign for the food. while Kenny was signing he saw Byron "disappeared around the comic book rack"(page77). I feel that byron is a nice person but cant let anyone know so he has to be tough and make fun his brother because he is smart or because he is cross eyed. For example when Kenny said "I bet we look like a solar system, with me being the sun and Byron being the orbiting earth"(page51). Byron is a cool person when he wants to be or when he is not around BupHead or any of his friends. When they got to Birmingham Kenny could alresdy tell that he was going to drive Grandma Sands crazy. when Byron caught kenny looking at him he said the statement"what the hell you looking at listen here im just going to do wat i have to do around because i anit going to have her death on my hands"(page161). " shes so old she probably steped over dinosaur turds"(page161).

I think that byron is a real cool person and would be even more cool if he was honest and let everyone know that he really does love his brother and his sister.

Chapter 5 Reading Responce

1.The word that describes Mrs.Watson is Forgiving i say this because in (pg.65)" when she caught Byron still playing with matches after she told him that she would burn him if he found out that he was still playin with them". "She had swore and god was her witness but she still gave Byron another chance because she was tired of having joeys sput all over her hand every time the match got close to Byron".

2.Mr. Watson is a joker. Most of what he's done so far in the book is crack jokes. On p. 3, Kenny says "...we knew Dad was going to try to make us forget about being cold by cutting up." On. p. 16, Mr. Watson can hardly stop laughing when Byron gets his lips stuck to the car because he was kissing the windshield. These examples both show that one way Kenny's Dad deals with bad situations is by laughing.

3. Mr and MRS. Watson do make good parents because on (pg.33) when kenny became friends with the new kid and started to share his luch with him. Momma began to make four sandwiches and two apples.

The book i will be talking about is called Who Am I Without Him? This book is spilt into short stories about girls and the boys in their lives.I like this idea because then you can u can have a separate connections to each story. This way you don't have to read one story about the same character or story .This story is so much better because if u don't like the way one story is going you can always skip over it and go to the next one. If you had a regular book and you skipped over a chapter you wouldn't know what the story is about.

This book reminds me of the skin I'm in and money hungry because in one chapter which is called the ugly one girl is being made fun of the way she looks accept this girl is not being made fun of her skin color she being mad fun of because the way her face looks. She has some type of problem where bumps that was a big as bubbles would appear on her face when the doctors found out what it was they immediately began working on a cure for it.Her grandma always tells her that she would be just like the ugly duckling.Her friends call her marbles because of the bumps on her face but she wish that the ugly duckling story would hurry up and come true so she can be a normal girl. All the boys in her school makes fun of her and calls her a beast. Another story that remind me of the book money hungry is the first story she not a Good two shoes like the girls that she wait for the bus with so she has to be up to no good .the character in this book feels the same way the girl in the other book feels only that this girl is not obsessed with money and will do anything for it.

This character is like maleeka because she felt as if she was to dark or has bumps that why nobody liked her or that way she was being made fun of . This was the reasons why but they shouldn't have treated there selves like everyone else was treating them. They should have treated there selves better with more respect and more self a steam. If i was one of them of them when i got home i would have looked at myself in the mirror every day and said I'm beautiful the way I am. I say this because sometimes people need a little motivation even if its from them.

This book is an awesome book and i recommend this book to any one who feels as if there not cute enough or have to have do it with them to have them love you. This book is also for the people who think going out with your best friends boy friend is cool and that they wont hurt you if you move around town and change your phone number a couple of times that its going to be okay but it not and you will find that out when u read this book. Also for people who think it is okay to sit there a man put there hand on you i suggest that you go and ask around town and take a count of how many people thins that thats ture and who would kill a man if they dare put there hand on them. I would one of the peolpe would kill a man if they put there hands on me.

why we shouldnt wear school uniforms

I disagree what Bill Clinton said at his 1996 state of the union speech.I feel that allowing children to wear jeans,shirt and sneakers doesnt increase violence.Schools would still get the right amout of value and citizenship. Uniforms dont slove the promblems their supporters say they slove.Violence will happen with or without uniforms.

Children would always just find away to show their style with there uniforms on. It can be from the hair is styled to the shoes they wear. Students will look find a way to look cute even if they have to wear uniforms.Like me for example i dont like to look the same as other kids but i like the school that im in so i deal with it because i get rewarded if i do.

Uniforms can also be goood because then our parents dont have to pay a lot of of money for them like they would have to if this was not a uniform school. Also then children wont think come to school thinking that it is a fashion show everyday.Also then they wont think that this person toped them or wanted more attenion.Uniforms can also help when it comes to people wearing other peoples stuff as earrings,barcelts inc.Now that there not allowed in this school we dont have to worry about that.

My feelings on this is that i strongly disagree with wearing unforms and what was said.Uniforms should be banned from every school in this state.I feel that uniforms are uncool and ugly and children should be forceed to wear them.P.s.i dont like uniforms or looking like everyone else when it comes to dressing.
